Tatuo

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: July 25, 2026

This is a template drafted for an early-stage product. It has not been reviewed by an attorney and is not a substitute for legal advice. Have a qualified lawyer review and adapt this before relying on it for a live product handling real bookings or payments.

1. How deposits work

When you request a booking, Tatuo places an authorization (a "hold") on your card through Stripe — no money changes hands yet. The deposit is only charged (captured) when the artist accepts your request. If the artist doesn't accept, you are not charged.

2. Artist declines or the request expires

If the artist declines your request, or the pending request expires (holds expire after about 7 days), the authorization is released automatically and no charge is made. If any amount was captured, it is refunded in full.

3. Cancellations

If either the client or the artist cancels a booking, the deposit is refunded in full.

4. All deposits are currently fully refundable

At this time, all deposits on Tatuo are fully refundable. There is currently no late-cancellation fee and no no-show forfeiture — you always get your deposit back if the appointment doesn't proceed.

If Tatuo ever introduces a no-show or late-cancellation forfeiture policy, we will disclose it here before it takes effect.

5. How refunds are issued

Refunds are returned to your original payment method through Stripe. Depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take a few business days for the refund to appear on your statement.
